Fair Housing Training II, based on the landmark Olmstead v. L.C. Supreme Court decision, delves into the rights of individuals with disabilities to live in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs, rather than being unnecessarily segregated in institutions. This training is designed for persons who already attended a Basic Fair Housing training and are looking for hands-on training with writing and analyzing reasonable accommodation requests and other tools to improve access to stable housing for individuals with disabilities. The training will cover the following essential areas:

  • Drafting Effective Reasonable Accommodation and Modification Requests
  • Fair Housing Issues that Arise in Tenant Screening
  • Individual Tenant Assessment (including developing supporting information to provide with housing applications, and understanding screening documents)
  • The Most Integrated Setting

This training is crucial for housing providers, service providers, advocates, and individuals with disabilities to promote understanding, compliance, and ultimately, create more inclusive housing opportunities in line with the principles of the Olmstead decision and Fair Housing Act.
